- Safer Schools: Strategies for Educators and Law Enforcement to Prevent Violence: (ncpc.org/eduleo.htm) An excellent website produced by the National Crime Prevention Council (NCPC). Lists 12 things parents, students, teachers, principals, the community, and the rest of us can do to help prevent school violence.
- Keep Schools Safe (www.keepschoolssafe.org): Established by the National Association of Attorney Generals and the National School Boards Association to address the escalating problem of youth violence.
- Nationwide, Children Feel the Colorado Tragedy (www.nmha.org): National Mental Health Association Offers Tips for Parents & Teachers
- National School Safety Center (www.nssc1.org): National clearinghouse for school safety programs and activities.
- American Association of School Administrators (www.AASA.org): Professional organization for school leaders that can provide resources and on-line links concerning school safety and violence in the schools.
- U.S. Department of Education (www.ed.gov/offices/OESE/SDFS): The Safe & Drug Free Schools Program has its own web site and links to other education programs and federal agencies.
- U.S. Department of Justice (www.ncjrs.org/ojjdp): The Office of Juvenile Justice maintains an extensive list of on-line articles, fact sheets and other resources concerning youth violence, delinquency prevention and related subjects.
- National Association of School Psychologists (www.naspweb.org): This professional organization maintains extensive on-line resources about dealing with crisis situations in schools, including information about their National Emergency Assistance Team.
- National Organization for Victim Assistance (www.try-nova.org): This organization provides resources concerning community crisis response as well as access to trained Crisis Response Teams.
- Center for the Study and Prevention of Violence (www.colorado.edu/cspv): This organization provides a clearinghouse for violence-related information specifically focused on youth violence. Housed at the University of Colorado at Boulder, CSPV is working on a project in which CSPV has identified outstanding violence prevention programs that have met a very high scientific standard of program effectiveness and has described these programs in a series called Blueprints for Violence Prevention.
